Dehydration Principle Of Belt type Sludge Dewatering Machines
The mud pump transports sludge into the dynamic (static) mixer, where it mixes with a 0.05-0.1% anionic (cationic) flocculant solution and undergoes full reaction. Fine solid particles in the slag (mud) slurry (or suspended matter) coagulate into bulky flocs, separating the sludge’s bound water and surface water into free water.
As the sludge spreads onto the filter belt in the extended gravity pre-dewatering zone (or belt concentrator), free water permeates through the belt’s backside. Gravity drains and separates the water, forming non-flowing sludge. Upon reaching the pressing-dewatering zone, the sludge enters the space between the upper and lower mesh belts, which clamp it under maximum pressure as the belts move. The rollers rotate slowly, guiding the sludge through the tension-adjustable filter belt. Here, the sludge experiences extrusion and shear forces from rollers and pressure rollers with gradually decreasing diameters, causing continuous pressure increase.
Sludge water progresses through the wedge zone, low-pressure zone, medium-pressure zone, high-pressure zone, and strong-pressure zone, undergoing continuous squeezing as pressure rises. Finally, low-moisture sludge cakes discharge and scrape off via a scraper. The upper and lower filter belts separate, and high-pressure water cleans small sludge particles blocking the filter mesh, preparing the machine for the next dewatering cycle.
